Kongbalong Sampler

I’m putting together a short sampler of my various musical projects, so that when people ask me what my music sounds like, I can just give them a CD.

The current track order:

  1. Too Primitive

  2. Blimps
  3. More Than Soup
  4. Accelerator
  5. Thunder Storm
  6. Dinga Da Donga
  7. Hunker Down
  8. Please Don’t Call Me Ken
  9. I Don’t Like Eggplant
  10. Stepping on the Cowboy
  11. High Noon

Stream it

Use this link to a m3u decoder that I just hacked together to get download links of the individual songs. (Use it on all your favorite m3us!).

Is there anything I’m leaving out, or is there anything I’ve included that shouldn’t be here? Also, what do you think of the track order.

I’m planning to remix a few of these tracks, and will master the whole thing like an album.

MTS needs to go last. anything after it is after all anti-climactic.

and you should ask jim if you can use his theme song for you as a secret track at the end!

well, I appreciate the sentiment (I think), but the goal was to make something that flowed well together, and to that end I have to assume that all the songs are good.

Smart! A good selection - I disagree with JS about ‘Soup’ - it’s better where it is - puts you in a good mood for the rest of the album and gets it out of the way too! So have you got a name for this? Cover art?

i was just going to call it “the kongbalong sampler” or something.

Is there a desire to have these done up like real cds with art and stuff?

Well, I’d like one. And I’d be happy to do you some artverk too if you wanted …

They are all great songs. And the sequence flows great for me. If I were to suggest anything, I might suggest switching the first and last tracks, just because the last one grabs me more, and you still get that sandwich effect (if you know what I mean).

But I’m not much for suggesting things.

Wait… man am I thick. YOU are also tapegerm? Whoa. Man, you were already crazy cool - now this. Crut turned me on to a site with your work on it a couple years ago. Mind blown. Also, thank you for the linkifier, a beautiful thing.

Tapegerm is a whole bunch of people. I was a member for a while. Check out tapegerm.com.

Furthermore, I am hammered that Oddio’s Katya thinks I’m crazy cool. You’re crazy cool too.
