Farting Around in Technicolor

I’ve been making a point lately of spending a little time each day playing around with the arsenal of audio tools on my Powerbook. I’ve been creatively dry lately, so this allows me to get my musical fix without the need for inspiration.

To celebrate the forthcoming release of Ableton Live 4, I thought I’d spend some quality time with Live 3.

I took a few uninteresting CSound textures, that I had created for Tapegerm a couple years ago, and unleashed Live’s clip envelopes on them. I then set up a send bus with SupaTrigga, which did all the hard work.

I don’t have the source files handy, but here is the result:

Watch this space for more musical experiments in the future.

One Response to “Farting Around in Technicolor”

hey, supatrigga! glad to see you’re using that. i can hear its distinctive sound. i think the one sound is too loud - it come in first at :13 - might lower that in the mix a bit (if possible). i really appreciate the melodic line in this song, that starts it out. all in all, an interesting experiment and a lovely way to jump-start your creativity. you can come up with some really good stuff by just messing around, e.g. when i made my “soft orange glow” remix i was just fooling around with dual peggers (a similar plugin to the supatrigga, in its randomness, but with multiple ins) and really liked the results. so keep at it!
